Well I have to admit I'd totally forgotten about my quest for world domination of the google(uk) results for Pond Pumps ..... it's an easy oversight ...... but now I'm back with avengence! The best thing is that although I haven't done anything about it since May last year I've somehow crept into the top [b]50[/b] in the google listings!! ...... how cool :D

Admittedly google appears to be going thorough it's little dance again at the moment, but the last time it did that I only managed to get into the top 500 so this is one hell of an improvement and hopefully after all the listings have settled down I'll still be somewhere within the top 700, which is the max results that google shows. Of course, my position in google has absolutely no effect on me financially as I don't sell pond pumps, and I've no intention of doing so. I'm purely doing all this just to demonstrate to my mate the power of a blog to affect the google rankings for [b]his[/b] chosen keywords.

This doesn't mean that I wouldn't get a childish pleasure out of knocking my mate off the top spot for the google results ..... although he probably wouldn't speak to me for a fair while if I did that ...... mind you, he's the one that was daft enough to throw down the gauntlet huh? ..... I'd be laughing my arse off ..... no, really, I would, he really is anal about his google position :| .... The best bit is, whilst I'm fairly sure that he doesn't read my blog, I just [i]know[/i] that Gary will show him this post ..... if only for the sadistic pleasure he'll get out of it himself ( Hi Barry, enjoy your time at the top whilst yah still can huh mate? ;) )

..... Did I mention that Gary has a great collection of Usa Patches ? ( hey, one good turn deserves another huh :| )

Damn, I've actually had some time to play with the code for my own website for the first time in months, and as you can see I put it to great use by making yet another tacky skin :D I've still got some work to do to change some of the more distant areas of my site over to this version but it's well on it's way to being completed. Once that's done then I'll upgrade my old skin to the new version of the software and add it to the list of available skins so then you'll be able to choose just how tacky you'd like my pad!

I obviously got over excited with all this free time because not only did I upgrade my blog to 1.9.summat and create this new paintjob for my tacky pad, but I also combined my personal blogs database and my dev blogs database to make one huuuuuuuge multi-blog ..... believe me, it's not something you want to try at home, it took me several hours of playing in pma and I lost some of my old dev blog comments in the process :( ..... on top of all that, there's also a text version of my blog available in the list of skins for those of you who prefer not to have your eyeballs assaulted.

One of the main things I still need to get working with the new format is my galleries. Although they're available by clicking the "art" button I want to work on them being far more integrated with the way the rest of the blogs work ..... guess I need to finish my gallery plugin at some point in the near future! Then I can (finally) move on to creating my 3D gallery, something which I've put off for quite a while (read "years"), and then you'll be able to "walk around" inside my world ....... scary huh?

We finally launched the new Lycos Directory yesterday, how cool :D The website was coded by AstonishMe, we also coded the engine that drives the whole thing, and on top of all that, it's sitting on one of HappilyHosted's shiny new servers.

"So", I hear you ask, "what the hell has that got to do with spam?".......... EVERYTHING ....... if you visit the directory and scroll down, you'll see some insignifcant text that reads "Powered by Link Centre ®" ...... see it? ...... Guess what that means? I'll give you a clue, we control the sites that get into the LinkCentre ( ®, to keep Nick happy ;) ) listings ..... and we detest spammers.

Which means that all you sorry arse spammers out there that think it's great to shovel your shit down peoples necks will now be penalised by us, and Lycos .... ohhh, and every other site that we'll soon be providing listings for ......... bitch huh?

Don't say I didn't warn you not to spam my blog though huh?
