Well, I've just switched the whole of our blog system over to Phoenix the new version of [b2evo], obviously there's going to be a few teething problems whilst I rush round like a loon and tweak the code so that it suits our system (damn, I can't wait until bimble weather is here again). On top of all that, I've also got a shedload of plugins that I've got to check work with the public release. They should only take a tad of tweaking because they've been designed for Phoenix.

Anyway, you may or may not hear much from me for a tad whilst I get the blogs back up to speed.

Damn, it's been ages since I posted on my blog!

You'll be pleased to know that the main reason I've not posted for ages is because I've been working on the Pheonix version of b₂evolution (if you want to wade through a load of geeky stuff then feel free to visit my testbed blog), which is the software that powers the WafflesOn blogs.

As the new version of the software is a total rewrite of the existing software, it means that I have a pile of work to do to make sure y'all have some nice skins to choose from when the switch over occurs, and then I need to integrate it with the forums again.

I've decided that I'm not going to allow automatic registration for a blog with the new version and instead I'm going to open up the forum registration. If any of the forum members want a blog then all they need to do is ask and I'll create one. Just in case I change my mind, (I'm blonde, we're allowed to change our mind as soon as we find it), I'm going to finish the registration process for the blogs anyway, it just won't be until after the software is released.

As well as updating the blog software I'm also looking at changing the forum software which means that I need to reskin the forums as well. Depending on the forum software, and how easy it is to skin, I'm thinking of making all the new blog skins work on the forums as well, so you can choose your favourite for everywhere.

Of course all this means I have a huge amount of work ahead of me, as well as all the other coding work I have on hand, so it might be a tad before my next post :p
